Tea Masters Cup (TMC) was launched in 2013 by the Russian Tea and Coffee Producers Federation. In a short amount of time TMC has grown into an ever growing international community representing at least 16 countries - from France to Australia, Belarus to Sri Lanka with more countries joining each year. The United kingdom Tea & Infusions Association is now the official national body representing TMC in the UK.

Tea Master can particpate in:
In the Tea Mixology category, participants compete in the skill of preparing and serving tea-based mixes.
During the presentation, the participant must serve and present to the judges two mixes: Master’s and Organisers’ ones. Master’s mix can be any (but it must be a drink and tea must be among its ingredients). Organisers’ mix is prepared and served according to the conditions set forth by the organizer of the tournament. Conditions for preparing and serving the Organisers’ mix are communicated to participants in advance. These conditions may be different at different tournaments.
Judges evaluate each mix (Master’s and Organisers’ ones) separately by the following criteria.
In the Tea Tasting category, participants compete in memorising and recognising tasted teas and ingredients of multi-component tea-based beverages. Tea Tasting is held in two subcategories:
In the TMC Tea Pairing category, participants compete in the skill of creating and serving gastronomic compositions with tea.
During the presentation, the participant must serve and present two compositions to the judges: a Master’s and an Organisers’ ones. Master’s composition can be any (tea is present in the composition in the form of a drink). Organisers’ composition is prepared and served according to the conditions set forth by the organiser of the tournament. The conditions for preparing and serving the Organisers’ composition are communicated to the participants in advance. These conditions may be different at different tournaments.
In the TMC Tea Preparation category, participants compete in the skill of preparing and serving pure tea (a drink made from parts of the Camellia sinensis plant without any additives).
During the performance, the contestant must prepare and serve judges two teas: Master’s tea and Organisers’ tea. Master’s tea can be any (but pure tea only) and can be prepared and served in any way. Organisers’ tea is prepared and served according to the conditions set forth by the organiser of the tournament. The conditions for preparing and serving Organisers’ tea are communicated to participants in advance. These conditions may be different at different tournaments.
